From Vav to Zayin

The Jewish New Year Hashana (Hebrew: กาษา บหา,

literally "head of the year," for Hebrew Year 5787 begins at sundown on Friday, 11 September 2026 and ends at nightfall on Sunday, 13 September 2026.

Rosh Hashanah is observed on the first two days of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar.

The Hebrew year 5787 is significant as it corresponds to the Hebrew letters Pey (o) and Zayin (T).

Pey (2) is associated with number 80, symbolizing the mouth or speaking, and is often linked to the spoken word of God.

God Himself has name that is so powerful.

Zayin (T) is associated with the number 7, representing a sword or weapon, and is linked to the biblical theme of warrior builders.

From Vav to Zayin refers to the symbolic transition between the Hebrew letters | (vav) and (zayin), interpreted in recent biblical-year teachings as moving from the themes of connection and establishment (vav, linked with year 5786) to emergence, nourishment, discernment, and the sword of the Word (zayin, linked with year 5787).

Meaning of Vav (I)

Connection, joining, alignment

Acts as “and”, continuing what is already established

Union with God as an already established reality.

Formation, rooting, abiding, quiet growth

Biblical-year link:

Interpreted as the letter of 5786, emphasizing what God has already joined and established

The realm of God is within every believers in our hearts

Meaning of Zayin (T)

The letter Zayin is the seventh letter of the Aleph-Bet, having the numeric value of SEVEN.

The pictograph for Zayin looks like a SWORD.

The top of the zayin is the handle, and the vertical leg is the blade.

Another interpretation of the zayin's design is that it represents a crown and a scepter.

The zayin thus alludes to power and authority.

The power of zayin works for us this year

The Mystery of Zayin

Zayin is considered a "crowned" Vav.

Just as Vav represents "yashar," straight light from God to man, so Zayin represents "chozer" or returning light. ("chozer" (nin) means "seer" or "visionary")

The Besht (Baal Shem Tov) said that just as a woman of valor is the crown of her husband, so Zayin, the 7th letter, is the crown of Vav.

All of God’s people, we are royalty

The Gematria of Zayin

The gematria of the word Zayin is 67, which is the same value for (binah), meaning UNDERSTANDING.

In this year there will be great understanding, revelation, coming upon the children of God

Zayin is a paradoxical word, since it means "WEAPON" or

"SWORD," but derives from a root word that means

"SUSTENANCE" or "NOURISHMENT."

The root (zan) appears in words like (mazon), meaning "food."

But how is food or nourishment related to the sword?

Zayin - to get food

Notice that the word for BREAD, lechem, is contained in the Hebrew word for WAR, milchamah:

The sword of war is often needed for our nourishment, not in the sense (of course) of vindictive fighting that is based on lust or avarice, but in the spiritual sense that in order to be nourished and at rest we must sometimes engage in warfare.

Zayin, Seven, and the Sword of Time

Since Zayin represents both the number 7 and a sword, it is not surprising that it is used to divide or "cut up" time (z'man) into units of sevens:

Shabbat- the 7th day of the 7-day week (the week of days)

Shavu'ot - the 49th day after Passover (the week of weeks)

Tishri - the 7th month of the year (the week of months)

Shemitah - the 7th year of rest for the land (the week of years)

Yovel - the 49th year (the week of weeks of years)

"All sevens are blessed"

The number seven has always been regarded in the Jewish tradition as the number of

•   completion,

•   wholeness,

•   blessing, and

•   rest.

Zayin is the Crowned Man (Jesus) equipped with the sword of the Holy Spirit.

Since Vav represents man and Zayin is the crowned Vav (i.e., the Crowned Man), we can also see that the Zayin represents Jesus the Messiah, the true King of the Jews.

And since Zayin also represents a sword, we see the MAN JESUS equipped with the SWORD of the HOLY SPIRIT.

The sword mentioned in Hebrews 4:12

is (machaira), a "short sword" that was sharpened on both edges of the blade.

The two edges represent the two main parts of the Scriptures (the old and new testaments).

Indeed, since Zayin's sword represents our Protector, as JESUS is the "LION of the tribe of JUDAH"; and since Zayin also represents nourishment life, JESUS is here depicted as the SHEPHERD who FEEDS His SHEEP.

Seven, sword, nourishment, what comes forth.

Discernment, testing, alignment.

The living Word as a sword.

Emergence of what was previously forming.

The Transition: Vav → Zayin

According to the cited teachings, Zayin does not replace Vav; it emerges from what Vav established.

Vav establishes connection.

Zayin reveals, tests, and BRINGS FORTH what that connection has Produced.

These interpretations come from a series exploring Hebrew letters as "witnesses" within Scripture, emphasizing patterns, prophetic imagery, and continuity rather than novelty.

The movement from Vav to Zayin is thus understood as a SHIFT from established union to revealed reality, a progression from rooting to fruitfulness.

There is a shift when the year change

There is why there is a second coming of Christ

Truth is reality

Progression from rooting to fruitfulness

Bearing the fruit of the love

Vav bears witness to connection, but for the believer that connection is not something still being created.

Union with Christ has been accomplished:

• we have been crucified with Him, raised with Him, and seated with Him.

Right hand position is very powerful in this earth

Zayin carries the witness toward seven, covenant, completion, and rest.

It reveals what connection means when it is no longer treated as incomplete.

Participation remains, but it proceeds from completion rather than trying to produce it.

What Jesus has done in vav, zayin brings it forth

Hebrews 4:12 presents the living Word as a sword that penetrates, distinguishes, judges, and exposes.

Jeremiah adds fire.

None of these images need to be read primarily as destructive.

When you speak the word of God, it is like a fire

It must come from the spirit. Like a fire in our heart. It will then penetrate into the heart of the listener

God is a consuming fire. Not destructive

Testing reveals what is genuine;

The sword distinguishes what is true;

Fire brings what is false into the light;

The Word nourishes the life God has joined to Himself.

In thy light we see light

The reward of involvement with God is not merely a prize at the end of a difficult season.

It is inherent in

• knowing Him,

• hearing Him,

• being searched and nourished by His Word,

• participating in His life, and

• watching hidden formation become recognizable fruit.

Christ becomes unmistakable

Revelation is seed.

The Word is seed. Financial

Meditate on the Word (seed)

Bring obedience

Act on the word

Visitation becomes habitation;

Inspiration becomes formation;

Seed becomes fruit.

Before the Word can be wielded faithfully, the person holding it must have been SHAPED by THAT same Word.

The word of God should be in our heart.

Shape by the Word

Zayin therefore becomes more than the image of a sword.

It becomes the EVIDENCE that joining has accomplished its formative purpose.

The VISIBLE LIFE is not manufactured for display; it is FRUIT emerging from HIDDEN LIFE.

Yet genuine formation continues:

Holy Spirit renews, matures, restores, strengthens, and conforms believers to Christ UNTIL what is TRUE in HIM becomes increasingly RECOGNIZABLE in the WAY they LIVE.

Testing can reveal and deepen lived experience without becoming the source of identity.

The foundation has not become stronger; our capacity to stand upon it has.

ZAYIN is therefore DISCLOSURE and ALIGNMENT:

• what was already there comes forth.

Standing Beneath the Sword - The Battlefield of Alignment

The sword manuscript develops the practical and spiritual implications of zayin most fully.

Spiritual warfare remains real, but THE CROSS has decisively changed the ground from which believers encounter it.

CHRIST has TRIUMPHED; therefore warfare is not an attempt to manufacture victory but a CALL NOT to be displaced from what HE HAS ESTABLISHED.

Do not allow challenges to move you from the position of what Christ has established

Before the sword is placed in our hand, it proceeds from Christ's mouth and searches us.

Hebrews then brings complete exposure immediately into the ministry of our great High Priest and the throne of grace:

• we are secure enough in Christ to be searched without hiding.

SPIRIT of TRUTH makes Christ known and brings us into agreement with what belongs to Him.

DECEPTION seeks agreement with another interpretation, sometimes even through biblical language misused.

We go for the truth, not deception

DISCERNMENT therefore grows from KNOWING what is TRUE rather than becoming fascinated with error.

The final expression of alignment under pressure is simple and demanding:

STAND.

Stand not in our own righteousness but in what Christ has established

What Began on the Road to Emmaus

Emmaus brings the movement from visibility into restored sight.

The two disciples possess Scripture, testimony, facts, and disappointed hope, yet they cannot correctly interpret what has happened because disappointment has become the lens through which they are reading reality.

Disappointment is like a lens that veil you from truth

Jesus is already beside them before they recognize Him.

He does not first change the circumstances or reveal His face;

He opens the Scriptures and reorders their understanding around Himself.

The road therefore becomes a picture of zayin as recognition:

what the Father has established has not failed, but the disciples must learn to see it.

We need to see what God is doing

The crowned man, SEVEN, REMEMBRANCE, SEED, SUSTENANCE, and COVENANT converge around the same movement-

what God has faithfully established being brought into conscious and visible RECOGNITION.

No sickness or plaque will come near me. Do we recognise. Can we see? God is in the situation we go through.

Learning to Walk with His Living Presence

Jesus disappears at the moment He is recognized and discovers a larger resurrection lesson.

Christ is preparing His disciples for a way of knowing Him that will NO LONGER DEPEND upon His ordinary physical visibility.

God speaks to us in our spirit.

If you look into physical realm, you will hear physical.

He opens Scripture, opens minds, teaches, shepherds, and forms a people who will soon receive Holy Spirit.

The forty resurrection days are therefore more than convincing proofs; they are FORMATION for LIFE after the ascension.

RECOGNITION precedes MANIFESTATION.

Before Christ becomes visible through His people, His people must learn to RECOGNIZE His living presence.

Recognise Jesus is the King of kings

Healing takes place when you recognise Him

Pentecost does not merely empower activity;

it makes possible the manifestation of the life of Christ through people who have learned to know Him.

Again, every witness reaches its proper end when Christ becomes unmistakable.

Are you still doubting whether Christ can heal or not

Christ is the Son of the living God

WHEN God's people RECOGNIZE the PRESENCE of the LIVING CHRIST, ZAYIN happens.

ZECHARIAH 4:6-7 TPT

Here is the message of Yahweh to Zerubbabel:

"You will not succeed by military might nor by your own strength but

BY MY SPIRIT," says Yahweh, Commander of Angel Armies.

"And what are you, O mighty mountain?

Before you, Zerubbabel, this mountain of obstacles will crumble.

Then he will set the capstone in place to shouts of 'Grace and beauty be upon it!' "

Grace! God’s goodness. No obstacle is too big.

Jesus is our righteousness. We are bold as lion.

In His righteousness, not ours.

The Year 5787/2026-7 is a very prophetic year!

Our Lord, JEHOVAH TSEBAOTH, the Lord of Angel Armies has won the war.

He will reign as King and we will be able to recognize Him.

He will feed his people as their Shepherd King.

All promises if you believe will be fulfilled this year.

The Zayin is not fighting alone.

The VAV, the man of God is crowned with authority.

Use the Sword of the Lord - not against one another but

As ONE UNITED BODY of CHRIST,

ALIGN with the WORD of GOD, the SWORD of the SPIRIT, SPEAK the WORD of the LORD boldly!

God is going to work with you as you declare His Word this year!

And you STAND still and SEE the SALVATION of the LORD.

This year Zayin, God is with you
