JOSHUA 5:10-11 KJV

And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the PASSOVER on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.

And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow AFTER the PASSOVER, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the SELFSAME DAY.

Manna is a symbol of grace.

Wilderness cannot plant anything.

The abundance is not in the wilderness.

Because of God grace, the children of Israel can live in the promised land.

Gilgal = Rolled away (our sins have been rolled away by Jesus on the cross).

Unleavened bread/cakes signifies no sin.

Our new nature is completely clean, holy and righteous else Holy Spirit cannot dwell in us.

JOSHUA 5:12 KJV

And the MANNA CEASED on the morrow AFTER they had eaten of the OLD CORN of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did EAT of the FRUIT of the land of Canaan THAT YEAR.

Manna dropped down from the sky due to God's grace and love for the children of Israel.

Manna Ceased.

But they ate of the fruit of Canaan.

Once the Israelites were in the promised land—a FERTILE LAND where they could GROW and RAISE their OWN FOOD —

THE LORD EXPECTED THEM to PROVIDE for THEMSELVES.

The land was of course bountiful by the standards of the Ancient Near East.

But the blessings of the land went beyond the favorable climate, abundant water, and other natural benefits provided by the hand of the Creator.

Israel would also inherit a well-developed infrastructure from the Canaanites.

JOSHUA 24:13 NKJV

I have given you a land for which you did not labor, and cities which you did not build, and you dwell in them; you eat of the vineyards and olive groves which you did not plant.’

Abundance is not in the wilderness, in a place where we doubt God.

Abundance is found in the promised land.

EXODUS 3:8 NKJV

So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land

to a GOOD and LARGE land,

to a land FLOWING with MILK and HONEY,

to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.

Even the signature description of the land as “flowing with milk and honey” assumes some degree of livestock management and beekeeping (own and breed).

There is thus an inextricable link between land and labor.

Our ability to produce does not arise solely from our ability or diligence, but also from the resources available to us.

Conversely, the land does not work itself.

By the sweat of our faces must we produce bread.

Invest in a land that can prosper and seed can grow.

GENESIS 3:17 NKJV

Then to Adam He said, “Because you have heeded the voice of

your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded

you, saying, ‘You shall not eat of it’:

“Cursed is the ground for your sake;

In TOIL you shall eat of it All the days of your life.

GENESIS 3:18-19 NKJV

Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, And you shall eat the herb of the field.

In the SWEAT of your face you shall eat bread

Till you return to the ground, -

For out of it you were taken;

For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

God has redeemed us from the curse of the law.

H2188 sweat

Original:זעה   zê‛âh

Phonetic: zay-aw'

Origin: From H2111 (in the sense of H3154); perspiration:- sweat.

H2111

Original: זוּע  zûa‛

Phonetic: zoo'-ah

to tremble, quiver, quake, be in terror

to shake violently

to shake off, that is, to agitate (as with fear):- move, tremble, vex.

God has redeemed us from fear.

One way to overcome fear is perfect love cast out all fear.

How to overcome fear? It's knowing God's perfect and unconditional love for us.

We do not have to try to please God.

Don't need to try to be someone else.

Righteousness is He approved of us.

God's approval has nothing to do with our self effort but is just by believing what Jesus had done for us.

Christianity is not about trying to be good but knowing that we have been made good by Christ.

When we try to defend ourselves, it is because of the fear of not good enough.

Perfect love casts out all fears when we know God loves us.

Israel has survived on the DIVINE GIFT of MANNA throughout their WILDERNESS WANDERINGS, but God had no intention of making this a permanent solution to the problem of PROVISION.

The LAND was to be WORKED.

SUFFICIENT RESOURCES and FRUITFUL LABOR were integral elements of the Promised Land.

While God may provide miraculously at times for our physical needs, the NORM is for us to subsist on the FRUIT of our LABOURS.

In the promised land, there is work to do.

LEVITICUS 19:23-25 NKJV

‘When you come into the land, and have planted all kinds of trees for food, then you shall count their fruit as uncircumcised.

Three years it shall be as uncircumcised to you.

It shall not be eaten.

But in the fourth year all its fruit shall be holy, a praise to the Lord.

And in the fifth year you may eat its fruit, that it may yield to you its increase: I am the Lord your God.

There are different levels with God.

MANNA is for BEGINNERS and the PROMISED LAND is for the MATURE.

We are going into maturity.

Learning of the gifting are for maturity.

MOVE from Manna to the fruits of the land.

Know that there are better things for your relationship with the Lord, health, family, ministry, finances, etc.

Manna is good, but it is only for a SEASON.

Do not built your camp around Manna!

MOVE ON to the PROMISED LAND.

DEUTERONOMY 8:8-9 VOICE

It’s a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of oil-rich olive trees and date honey.

In that land, you’ll always have plenty to eat—you won’t lack anything!

HOSEA 2:15 KJV

And I will give her her vineyards from thence,

and the VALLEY of ACHOR for a DOOR of HOPE:

and she shall sing there, as in the days of her youth,

and as in the day when she came up out of the land of Egypt.

Achor means trouble.

In all the trouble that we went through, God promised there is door of hope.

Jesus is the door.

When Jesus comes into our trouble, there is a way out for us.

He will lead us out of trouble.

Singing should be an expression of what is happening in our hearts.

When God turns around the pains and troubles in our lives, we are able to sing and rejoice.

H3754 vineyards

Original: כּרם

Transliteration: KEREM

Phonetic: keh'-rem

Strong's Definition: a GARDEN  or VINEYARD:- vines, (INCREASE of the) vineyard (-s), vintage. See also H1021.

Beth-haccerem = "house of the vineyard"

a place in Judah

See the vineyard, see that He is going to bless the fruits that we are growing.

He is restoring Garden of Eden back into our lives.

PSALMS 128:1-2 NIV

Blessed are all who fear the Lord,

who walk in obedience to him.

You will eat the FRUIT of YOUR LABOR;

BLESSINGS and PROSPERITY will be YOURS.

PROVERBS 10:22 KJV

THE BLESSING of the LORD, it maketh RICH,

and he addeth no sorrow with it.

If God gives us blessings, He will make us rich.

H6238 rich

Original: עשׁר ‛ ÂSHAR

Phonetic: aw-shar'

to be or become rich or wealthy, enrich

to make rich

to gain riches

to ACCUMULATE; to GROW (causatively make) RICH:- be (-come, en-, make, make self, wax) rich, make. See H6240.

Not that we go after riches, but riches go after us.

Don't be greedy to go after riches but riches will go after us if we go after God.

H6240

Original: עשׂר ‛ ÂŚÂR

Phonetic: aw-sawr'

TEN, -teen (in combination with other numbers)

used only in combination to make the numbers 11-19

Strong's Definition: For H6235; ten (only in combination), that is, the "teens"; also (ordinal) a "teenth" :- [eigh-, fif-, four-, nine-, seven-, six-, thir-] teen (-th), + eleven (-th), + sixscore thousand, + twelve (-th).

H6235

Original: עשׂרה עשׂר ‛ eśer ‛ăśârâh

Phonetic: eh'ser

TEN with other numbers

From H6237; ten (as an accumulation to the extent of the digits): ten, [fif-, seven-] teen.

H6237

Original: עשׂר ‛ ÂŚÂR

Phonetic: aw-sar’

- to TITHE, take the tenth part of, give a tithe, take a tithe

- (identical with H6238); to ACCUMULATE; but used only as denominative from H6235;

to TITHE, that is, take or give a tenth:- X surely, give (take) the tenth, (have, take) tithe (-ing, -s), X truly.

When we take the tithe, accumulation of wealth is happening.

The Hebrew word for wealth is osher עושר.

It is said that if you give ma”asar you will be enriched or become wealthy.

In Hebrew, the word for tithe is "Ma'aser" מַעֲשֵׂר)), and the word for wealth is "Osher" עוֹשֶׁר)).

Ashira means “wealthy” and “I will sing.”

Derived from the same root word as shir, meaning ing "song" in Hebrew.

WEALTH and TITHING are actually closely related.

It should also come as no surprise that the Hebrew words for both wealth and tithing reveal some surprising things that you would never find out merely from any definition.

RICH is in the TITHE

When we don't do an action is because we still don't believe what God says.

MEM: Ocean, fish, abundance

AYIN: Spiritual eyes to see the tithe; to see abundance in Christ; to see God as the God of abundance

SHIN: Destroy, crushed (teeth)

RESH: Highest person

Rich is inside the tithe.

When we do a business, don't partner with unbelievers or someone who doesn't believe in tithing.

Whatever business income, we learn from the Jews, from God's word, we tithe it.

Wealth: Asar עשר

DEUTERONOMY 8:18 NKJV

“And you shall remember the Lord your God,

for it is He who gives you power to get wealth,

that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers,

as it is this day.”

It is not ourselves who can advance a business but it is God who gave us the power to make wealth.

There is power in tithing and offering when we honour God.

What Is Materialism?

How do you tell if a person is materialistic?

Is it simply someone who has a lot possessions?

Someone who is very wealthy?

In fact, none of the above.

Wealth and riches in and of themselves do not constitute “Materialism.”

The question isn’t, “Are you rich?”

The question is, “Do you possess your possessions OR DO THEY POSSESS YOU?”

If we possess our possession, we don't listen to the things but we listen to God. They don't affect our decisions.

Our purpose in life is to serve the Lord.

Jesus Himself dealt with it quite frequently while He walked this earth.

According to the opening verse, God is clearly in favour of wealth, though He doesn’t just give it to anyone.

If He wasn’t, why would He give us POWER to get it?

Wealth will be entrusted to a person who will not let wealth possess them.

Wealth and money is stewardship.

God needs someone whom He can trust to steward the money; to do what he says with the money.

Two Kinds Of Tithing.

Law Tithing

LEVITICUS 27:30 NLT

“One-tenth of the produce of the land, whether GRAIN from the FIELDS or FRUIT from the TREES -

BELONGS to the LORD and must be SET APART to HIM as holy.

In the New Covenant, 100% belongs to God.

Jesus gave us 100%.

Our lives belongs to God.

Tithing is one tenth belongs to God.

The principle of tithing predates the law by several hundred years.

There are TWO kinds of tithing in the Bible:

The kind that Abram offered to Melchizedek, King of Salem and the one demanded by Mosaic law.

(Abram gives Melchizedek a tithe of all he had.)

The key to unlock wealth and abundance into our lives is by tithing.

Abram Meets Melchizedek.

This King of Salem, also called “Priest of the Most High God,” blessed Abram after he returned from rescuing his nephew, Lot.

Melchizedek offered him bread and wine, after which Abram did something amazing.

Bread also signify sustenance and provisions.

Though he lived 430 BEFORE the Ten Commandments were given, he offered Melchizedek a tenth of everything he owned.

Now, obviously, he was never under law, yet he knew to give a tenth of all his possessions.

Abraham did not tithe under the law because Abraham came first before the law.

1:  How did he know to give a tithe, and

2:  Why did he do it?

GENESIS 14:18-20 KJV

″And Melchizedek, King of Salem brought forth BREAD and WINE: and he was the priest of the most high God.

And he {Melchizedek} BLESSED him {Abram}, and said, ‘Blessed be Abram of the Most High God, (Elyon) possessor of heaven and earth:

"Brought forth bread and wine" signify Jesus giving His life to us.

The greatest blessing that we can ever receive in this life is receiving Jesus.

GENESIS 14:18-20 KJV

And blessed be the Most High God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand.

And he gave HIM TITHES of ALL.”

Who was this shadowy figure, Melchizedek, this king of Salem?

HEBREWS 7:1-3 NKJV

“For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and BLESSED him,

to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all,

first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,”

Salem comes from shalom which means peace.

HEBREWS 7:1-3 NKJV

without father, without mother, without genealogy,

having neither beginning of days nor end of life,

but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

Melchi means “King,” and “Tsedek” means “righteous,” in Hebrew.

He was also King of Salem.

Salem comes from the root word, “Shalom,” which means, “peace.”

So,  He was the King of Righteousness and the King of Peace!

He was “Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life….”

Jesus was never from Adam. He was from God.

After Jesus’ death, resurrection,  and ascension however, having fulfilled all the Law and redeemed us by His blood, He sat down at the right hand of His Father.

THEREFORE, GOD HIGHLY EXALTED HIM and gave Him the Name that is above every name.

He is rightfully now called “GREAT HIGH PRIEST.”

High priest is the one who connect man to God.

Out of Melchizedek’s mouth came ONLY BLESSING and NO curse.

In RESPONSE to the BLESSINGS spoken over him ABRAM gave Melchizedek “TITHES of ALL.”

We are no longer under curse because Jesus has absorbed the curse.

First blessing is the spiritual blessings.

This KING PRIEST then offered Abram bread and wine.

That’s communion!

Holy communion brings to remembrance Jesus’ death, of course, and verse 8 tells us WHY HE RESPONDED WITH THE TITHE.

Hebrews 7:8 says:

“Here mortal men receive tithes, but THERE he {JESUS} RECEIVES them, - of whom IT IS WITNESSED THAT HE (JESUS) LIVES.”

When we tithe, it is to Jesus.

Jesus is receiving them.

Just as COMMUNION shows forth Jesus’ DEATH,

TITHING is evidence of His RESURRECTION.

It is proof THAT HE IS ALIVE!!!

We have salary and income, it is a proof that Jesus is alive.

2 CORINTHIANS 9:10 TPT

This GENEROUS GOD who SUPPLIES ABUNDANT SEED for the farmer, which becomes bread for our meals, is even more extravagant toward you.

First HE SUPPLIES every need, plus MORE.

Then he MULTIPLIES the seed AS you SOW it, -

so that the harvest of your generosity will grow.

2 CORINTHIANS 9:11 TPT

You will be ABUNDANTLY ENRICHED in every way as you GIVE GENEROUSLY on EVERY OCCASION, for when we take your gifts to those in need, it causes many to give thanks to God.

DEUTERONOMY 8:18 KJV

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God:-

for it is HE that giveth thee POWER to get WEALTH,

- that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

PROVERBS 10:22 NIV

The BLESSING of the LORD brings WEALTH,

WITHOUT PAINFUL TOIL for it.

1.  Power to become rich - The Resource is in the Tithe and Offerings.

2.  The children of Israel started to tithe and offer in the Promised Land where they WORKED the land AND had MORE than enough for themselves and were able to give to others.

3.  GOD'S Covenant with Abraham was not only to bless him and his descendants but that they were to be a blessing to the nations as GOD BLESSED them ABUNDANTLY without pain, worry, stress, anger, torture, grieve or hardship etc.

4. In the WILDERNESS, (babies) God provided manna which was only enough for themselves.

 5.  MOVE from eating Manna to  Fruits by WORKING in the promised land. (matured)
