Supernatural Mantle

There is a reason why we are here.

Our God is not a natural God. Many times we limit Him to be just like us, human being.

There is a mantle. Mantle is like a cloak put on a person.

A mantle is a supernatural “cloak” that

God places on

A person of

His choosing

To accomplish a task of significant importance

Often representing AUTHORITY, PROPHETIC OFFICE, or DIVINE CALLING

It is for a job to be done.

He chose the person to do something

We are born on this earth for a purpose. He wants to give us a mantle. A sign of authority.

Prophet speaks on behalf of God

Ambassador speaks on behalf of heaven, heaven’s perspective to earth

We are to speak to others about what God says

When we think He doesn’t care about us?

We don’t believe that our heavenly Father cares for us because we go about worrying about our daily lives

We are all still in the 5 senses realm

We are a spirit. Living inside the body. Our real person is a spirit.

Your spirit is eternal. It won’t disappear after your body goes back to the dust.

Everyone will have to die because of sin.

Our spirit can live eternally forever.

The first Adam is spiritual death and eventually physical death.

We realised we are spirit being we will pursue spiritual things.

Character, maturity need to grow

Small child immature cannot receive

We want to grow up spiritually

It is God who gives us the desire and will to follow Him, to do what He wants.

Old Testament

The Mantle or Elijah

Elisha Follows Elijah

So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him.

1 Kings 19:19 NKJV

Elisha was working in the ministry

Elijah was about to pass the mantle to Elisha.

Inside their hearts they are doing something for the Lord.

Then Elijah passed by and saw Elisha.

Elijah finds Elisha plowing in the field and throws his MANTLE over him

Symbolises

Transfer of prophetic

1 Kings 19:20-21  NKJV

And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.”

And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”

So Elisha turned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen and slaughtered them and boiled their flesh, using the oxen’s equipment, and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he arose and followed Elijah, and became his servant.

Let the dead bury the dead. You follow Me

Elisha picks up Elijah’s mantle that had FALLEN and USES IT to part the waters of the Jordan River

Demonstrating the CONTINUATION of ELIJAH’s PROPHETIC POWER AND AUTHORITY

The joy of the Lord is my strength!

This is supernatural!

Jesus was never concern about anything in life. You are not natural because you are born again from heaven!

You cannot be ordinary again!

Something has happened to you! You have been born again.

Conversion is not a change of religion. Is your heart has been changed.

God takes away the stubborn and stoney heart from us.

Something has happened. Everything has changed.

Something is different inside us now.

God call us out of this world. We don’t belong to the world.

The hunger is not natural.

When you live a supernatural life, people get angry, and you become cool and calm.

Where NOW is the Lord, the God of Elijah?

Faith without work is dead.

His way is through giving.

We want God to intervene, then we need to follow His way.

There are many things God tells us to do, are we willing to do?

Just follow what God says, then we can cross over.

MANTLE is Symbol of Authority and Office:

The mantle is often seen as a symbol of authority and office.

In the case of Elijah and Elisha, it represents the prophetic office and the power of God working through His chosen servants.

The mantle signifies the RESPONSIBILITIES and SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY bestowed upon the wearer.

It has to be from the Lord.

Mantle comes with responsibility

Mantle is for service and it has responsibility

MANTLE is a Garment of Distinction:

A mantle was a garment of distinction, often worn by individuals of status or those SET APART for a specific purpose.

It was typically a large, loose-fitting outer garment that provided warmth and protection.

New Testament - THE MANTLE OF CHRIST

The concept of clothing as a symbol of spiritual authority and calling continues.

GALATIANS 3:27 AMP

For all of you who were baptized into Christ [into a spiritual union with the

CHRIST, the ANOINTED]

• have CLOTHED YOURSELVES with CHRIST [that is, you have taken on His characteristics and values].

Character is the one to change first. It is very important.

Character, integrity

The life we take on is Christ’s value.

Clothes of righteousness

We begin to live in His righteousness

Not on His own

None of us in our own self, we are nothing great

When we put on Christ, supernatural things happen

In a spiritual sense, the MANTLE represents the CALLING and EMPOWERMENT of GOD upon an individual's life.

It is a reminder of the RESPONSIBILITY and AUTHORITY given by

GOD

  •   to FULFILL

  •   HIS PURPOSES.

Do you know what is His purpose?

Know Him and to grow up spiritually and able to witness and to serve Him

Supernatural witness

SURRENDER

Will you continue your own purpose or Mine?

When you meet the Lord Jesus, everything changes

Paul had to be humble. He had a lot of pride. He knew the law through and through

Paul said, Regards to the law, he was blameless.

He thought he knew a lot. God had to humble him.

14 years! God cannot use anyone full of pride

When God said certain thing, follow Him

Don’t be stubborn, allow Him to lead us.

The PASSING of the MANTLE from Elijah to Elisha serves as a powerful illustration of

  •   MENTORSHIP,

  •   SUCCESSION, and

  •   the CONTINUATION of GOD'S WORK through successive generations.

The MANTLE, as depicted in the Bible, is a rich symbol of

  •   DIVINE CALLING,

  •   AUTHORITY, and

  •   the PASSING of SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITY.

It serves as a reminder of the importance of OBEDIENCE to GOD'S CALL and the EMPOWERMENT that comes from HIM to carry out HIS WILL.

His Word comes upon you

God wants to manifest Himself to you

The Holy Spirit

The MANTLE of CHRIST is a term used to describe the HOLY SPIRIT, which is the POWER from on HIGH and the PROMISE of the FATHER.

MATTHEW 3:15-16 TPT

Jesus replied, “It is only right to do all that God requires.”

Then John baptized Jesus.

And as Jesus ROSE UP OUT of the water,

• the HEAVENLY REALM

OPENED up OVER him and

• he saw the HOLY SPIRIT descend out of the heavens and

REST UPON HIM in the form of a DOVE.

3:16 The dove is a symbol for both meekness and purity. Two gentle animals are pictured at the baptism of Jesus, a dove resting upon a lamb. If you want the presence of the Dove you need to have the nature of the Lamb. The implication is that the Holy Spirit came upon Jesus and never left him.

Jesus was depicted as the Lamb

Be like the Lamb. Don’t resist.

The Church is able to perform "greater works" THROUGH the HOLY SPIRIT,

• just like how Elisha doubled the miracles that Elijah performed through the mantle he received.

The mantle Elisha put on represents the gentleness of JESUS - HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS.

The mantle of Christ is also referred to as the Holy Spirit, which is passed from one person to another.

What happens before the placing of the Mantle on someone?

1 KINGS 19:16 KJV

And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou ANOINT to be king over Israel:

• and ELISHA the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou ANOINT to be PROPHET in thy room.

H4886 anoint

Original: nun MÂSHACH

Phonetic: maw-shakh'

to smear, anoint, spread a liquid

  •   to RUB with OIL, that is, to anoint;

  •   to consecrate;

  •   also to paint: - anoint, paint.

He anoints you before He puts the mantle on you.

The anointing comes first.

WHO IS THE ANOINTED ONE?

DANIEL 9:25 AMP

So you are to know and understand that from the issuance of the command to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until (the coming of)

  •   the MESSIAH (the ANOINTED ONE, [H4899 nwn mâshiyach]

  •   the PRINCE,

there will be seven weeks [of years] and sixty-two weeks [of years]; it will be built again, with (a city) plaza and moat, even in times of trouble.

SONG OF SONGS 1:3 TPT

Your presence releases a FRAGRANCE so pleasing-over and over poured out.

For your LOVELY NAME is

"FLOWING OIL."

No wonder the brides-to-be adore you.

Isaiah 61:1-3

The Good News of Salvation

“The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me,

Because the LORD has anointed Me

To preach good tidings to the poor;

He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,

To proclaim liberty to the captives,

And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD,

And the day of vengeance of our God;

To comfort all who mourn,

To console those who mourn in Zion,

To give them beauty for ashes,

The oil of joy for mourning,

The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;

That they may be called trees of righteousness,

The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
