1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 TPT
Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you?
You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives INSIDE your sanctuary.
GALATIANS 5:24-25 NKJV
And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
If we LIVE in the SPIRIT, let us also WALK in the SPIRIT.
G4748 walk

to march in (military) rank (keep step),

GALATIANS 5:25 ICB
We get our new life from the Spirit.
So we should follow the Spirit.
GALATIANS 5:25 TPT
If the Spirit is the source of our life, we must also ALLOW the Spirit to direct every aspect of our lives.
We are spirit.
JOHN 6:63 TPT
“The Holy Spirit is the one who GIVES LIFE, that which is of the natural realm is of no help.
The words I speak to you are Spirit and life.
But there are still some of you who won’t believe.”
JOHN 14:16-17 NKJV
And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may ABIDE with you FOREVER —
the SPIRIT of TRUTH, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him;
but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
We actually don’t live spiritually UNTIL the Spirit invades and infuses our souls with vitality.
Imagine that!
The Spirit abides with us;
He remains, hovers, and tabernacles on and in us.
Life should never be boring, right?
You can hear God, experience miracles!
This realm is exciting!
LIVING in the HOLY SPIRIT, however, requires:-
• INTIMACY,
• OBEDIENCE,
• COMPANIONSHIP, and most of all,
• an AWARENESS of HIM at ALL TIMES.
If the Holy Spirit is going to remain with us, it’s imperative that we become SENSITIVE to HIM.
Life revolves around the Holy Spirit, not us.
GALATIANS 3:1 TPT
What has happened to you foolish Galatians?
Who has put you under an evil spell?
Did GOD not OPEN your EYES to SEE the MEANING of Jesus’ crucifixion?
Was he not REVEALED to you as the crucified one?

GALATIANS 3:2 TPT
So answer me this:
Did the Holy Spirit come to you as a reward for keeping Jewish laws?
No, you received him as a gift because you believed in the Messiah.
GALATIANS 3:3 TPT
Your NEW LIFE BEGAN when the HOLY SPIRIT gave you a new birth.
Why then would you so foolishly turn from LIVING in the SPIRIT by trying to finish by your own works?
Paul asked in Galatians 3:3 to a group of Christians:
“Are you so foolish?
Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?”
We don’t want to treat the Holy Spirit in the same manner as did the Galatian believers who preferred their efforts above the Spirit.
EPHESIANS 4:30 TPT
The Holy Spirit of God has sealed you in Jesus Christ until you experience your full salvation.
SO NEVER GRIEVE the Spirit of God or take for granted his holy influence in your life.
Grieve (lupeo) means to hurt, abuse, distress or offend.
We can actually hurt the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Do you realize that the Spirit is not merely a force or energy source?
He certainly is not an “it”.
The Holy Spirit is a person; the third person of the trinity.
In John chapters 14-16, there are nineteen personal
pronouns of “He” or “Him” referring to the Holy Spirit.
He really is a person.
Divine? Yes.
Coequal with God, most certainly true, but He is a person with whom we are to walk in fellowship.
We are commanded not to grieve Him.
How do we grieve the Holy Spirit?
We grieve the Holy Spirit the following ways:
1. When we fail to speak the truth to others and give in to inauthenticity or deception.
EPHESIANS 4:25 TPT
So discard every form of dishonesty and lying so that you will be known as one who always speaks the truth, for we all belong to one another.
2.When we allow anger to linger and it gives occasion
to sin..
EPHESIANS 4:26 TPT
But don’t let the passion of your emotions lead you to sin!
Don’t let anger control you or be fuel for revenge, not for even a day.
3. When we give the devil space in our lives or
a foothold to influence us.
EPHESIANS 4:27 TPT
Don’t give the slanderous accuser, the Devil, an opportunity to manipulate you!
4. When we choose not to work and miss opportunities
to generously pour into others with resources.
EPHESIANS 4:28 TPT
If any one of you has stolen from someone else, never do it again.
Instead, be industrious, earning an honest living, and then you’ll have enough to bless those in need.
5. When we use our mouth to destroy people with barren,
lifeless words and fail to edify and impart grace with our tongues.
EPHESIANS 4:29 TPT
And never let ugly or hateful words come from your mouth, but instead let your words become beautiful gifts that encourage others; do this by speaking words of grace to help them.
6. When we allow offenses to fester and poison our attitudes, speech, and behavior.
EPHESIANS 4:31 TPT
Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity, and insults.
7. When we don’t forgive others the same way Christ forgave us.
EPHESIANS 4:32 TPT
But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another.
Has God graciously forgiven you?
Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.
Any of these practices are offensive and hurtful to the Holy Spirit.
Moreover, the only way we could ever participate in those grieving activities is by resisting and rejecting the ongoing promptings of the Holy Spirit.
He came, Jesus said, to guide us into all truth (see John 16:13).
Therefore, we actually grieve the Spirit—who is called the Spirit of truth—by suppressing Him.
The Holy Spirit can also be grieved by our thoughts, motives, and intentions.
